Milzy Motorsports Ported and Polished Intakes are a great complement to our heads and cams or even a stock car. These intakes will allow your engine to breath better and allow for less restrictive airflow to see greater gains from our aftermarket heads and cams. Our intakes unlike other companies, include all the AC Delco gaskets needed to install them ($150 worth of gaskets). The throttle body port is opened up to 65mm for no extra charge to accommodate the larger size of aftermarket throttle bodies. The upper intake manifold is port-matched at the flange, and the intake runners are fully ported. The lower intake is port-matched at each end, and we port the entire length of the 10" long intake ports. The intake ports are not polished to a shine, but rather left with an 80 grit textured finish to allow for better atomization of the air/fuel mixture.
Our full port-job exceeds what one of our competitors calls a "competition port job".
You may have noticed we've updated our pricing. We recently did an extensive cost analysis over the last two years on all of our ported and polished parts, and have increased the prices accordingly. These new prices are based on the amount of time it takes to port these products, which we came up with by keeping logs for each and every ported and polished product we've sold during the last two years, of each type that we sell. The labor portion of these prices come from a rate of $50/hr, which is half of our $100/hr shop-rate. This combo of upper and lower is actually reduced to $40/hr for the package. So it's literally as cheap as we can do it. Our Stage 1,2,and3 performance packages will also have discounted pricing when combined with the other parts within those packages. The reason the product price jumped so much is due to the significant amount of time spent cleaning/prepping the parts for porting, as well as cleaning after the porting is done. So whether you get the half port job, or the full one, the cleaning is the same. Each intake is cleaned thoroughly and then glass-beaded to remove all exterior dirt and debris, and as much as the interior as is accessible with the blaster. In the 3100, 3400, and 3500 upper intake, there are areas in the plenum where the blaster can not reach. After porting, the intakes are once again thoroughly cleaned with solvent, then each and every threaded hole is cleaned out, and then the part is once again cleaned with solvent and then blown dry with compressed air.
So I apologize for the increase in cost on this item, but I promise it is necessary to retain the highest possible quality of this product, without having to ship customers dirty or improperly cleaned parts. Any customer who sends us parts to be ported (or as a core afterwards) which are pristine and require no pre-cleaning at all, will receive a credit for the cost of the pre-cleaning we would typically need to do.
We will be updating these outdated pictures in the near future.
Typical lead time is 10-20+ business days for your intakes to ship out once cores and payments have been received, but e-mail us at mikem@milzymotorsports.com if you have any timeframe concerns BEFORE ORDERING.
